It must be X99, as this is the only chipset so far supporting DDR4.

Correct, X99 is the only chipset that supports DDR4 but which mobo does he have though? ;) So when is the review coming out anyway? Please don't tell me the release date is under NDA as well :P

It all comes down to band width and DDR4 offers that up in spades.

Was bandwidth a limiting factor or a bottleneck in DDR3 systems? I thought RAM was really one of the lesser factors in limiting a systems performance at the moment (though that's mostly from heresay and impression, I certainly haven't thoroughly investigated it by any means).

Linus already has Haswell-e cpus so I assume HWC also has them. Also there are plenty of motherboards that have their info released so they both probably have mulitple mobos.

It seems this will be a release that will have a lot of stock.

The price has also been released for DDR4 and it is pretty expensive but not as bad as I thought it would be. Still if you are going Haswell-e you are spending at least $1000+ for just the CPU, Ram, and Mobo if you go for the 5930K and 8 DIMMS.

Seeing as how 32 GB of DDR4 costs nearly 600$.... yeah I think I'll just stick with 8 or 16 :P

I recently got my MSI Z97 Gaming 7 not too long ago.

I think I'll stick to my new motherboard, and continue to use DDR3 RAM until I get a new motherboard, or at least have more motherboards that support DDR4. I may go for 32GB, or 64GB of DDR4 RAM depending on the prices in a couple of years.

So excited can't wait to see the benchmarks on the memory :D although I wish I can afford the upgrade. I don't have a job :(
