Actually, the fact that I look at the OS from the POV of the average user say my mother who knows basically nothing about computers coming into it, who you expect to instantly & instinctively know that Win+r+update is how she SHOULD be able to easily access something like windows update kinda blows my mind. the point of windows is to make things as easy as possible for the everyday user. That means that they shouldn't ever NEED to know any shortcuts to be able to do what they need to do without googling. Otherwise, why don't we just ditch windows and run everything from command line is that is 100% the BEST UI available now? Lets just bring back DOS and say "hey its an upgrade to windows and dont you dare disagree"

Yes, because removing your hand from your mouse in order to type something on the keyboard is a lot more efficient than the couple of mouse clicks it takes to get to windows update using a nested start menu.... ;)

The user here is bitching about things that are clearly not the fault of the product and spewing it to others, but of the user and that was the point I was making. And that is a rampant issue with this sector no matter how you slice it.

And if coming off as a know it all because I know simple basic windows commands that have been around since the windows 95 days , that makes me question your pissing contest statements.
Yeah you are really aren't worth the time to debate. YOU are the one telling peeps that they are ignorant and stupid if they don't agree with your POV. YOU are the one telling peeps to RTFM. Yet you are too young and full of yourself to see that. Good luck with that.

Here is a protip: a Graphical User Interface was proven to be more efficient than the command line. It breaks my heart as I grew up with the command line. But that is the way of the world. Its simply better for most people and their workflow. So telling people to go back to the command line and remember commands makes you look like a young ass.

Hell the very fact you have to tell people to use key commands instead of using the GUI....shows how broken and unintuitive the UI of windows 8 is. Which is a shame as the under the hood improvements are tangible over win 7 (copy which is actually decent, faster boot up, etc etc). But these improvements are tanking because of the UI. Knowing MS they will shoot themselves in the other foot in their efforts to copy Apple, removed these improvements and make Win 9 even more fisher price.
