Default World Supply of AMD 280x GPU's = Gone

Well,
We can thank Litecoin for this newest increase in demand.
As of today, world supply of high end AMD Cards is pretty dry.
Cards like the 280x and 7970 have skyrocketed in demand. WE

I think we can expect price spikes going forward, as one director has said "The spike in demand is pretty much global... we have nothing left"

Well that's good for AMD, crappy for the consumer...

Indeed, at NCIX, the only 7970 left in stock is an uber-expensive Lightning. The only 290X's in stock are ones >$600, pretty much the same thing with the 290, except for a lone XFX at $449.

Hmm, looks like the 280X's are almost sold out, too.

"lets produce a limited number of these so we can fabricate strained supply and demand so we can get our cards prices back up and milk more profits out of our customers"

that or its time to get rid of the 1 child per household law in china.

Yup. They will pay for themselves in less than a month at the current Litecoin prices.

HEH, my brother just bought 4x Powercolor 7950's at $269. He purchased them last week, and received them on Monday. Looks like he bought at the right time.

Now he has to argue with Newegg because they sent him the wrong codes. They sent him codes for some in-game FTP credits, rather than the Never Settle Gold he should have gotten.

Yeah I was kinda hoping to pick up a decent low/midrange AMD card to take over gaming duties from my A8, but I suspect it'll be well after the Christmas season before we see some deals.

I managed to snag a Gigabyte R9 280X on Newegg.ca at around 1.30am this morning, the order went through and they have taken my money so I should be getting it, I hope.
