As interesting as this is, I put zero faith in it.

Perfect spot for it, and hey I'm hopeful that much like the 4XX -> 5XX transition we see the same type of performance boost 6XX - > 7XX series.

Just too early when they just finished the 6XX lineup, and the market is still saturated with Cards.

for AMD/ATIs sake I hope they can get a good increase out of the refined 7000 design, I guess I'd be happy if they were 25%, but that sounds like a lot so maybe they'll just lower prices on 8000s

40-55% increase sounds ridiculous... I have a hard time seeing the performance boost being anywhere near that large.

Did you read the HWC review with the improvements they just got with driver updates. They could be ready for this potential card if they want to be.

I'm still perfectly happy with my GTX 580 ( Windows 7 ) , so they better to lower their price and lower electric consumption on any new GPU if they want I switch. ( can't say the same with my 560 on my work PC and Windows 8, craps drivers )

No, but do they include new benchmarks, most all the benchmarks I can find are from lanuch, and its very hard to find CF bench

I don't see that happening for nV from just driver releases. What that spoke to was more of a driver team that wasn't up to snuff for the last 10 months for the 7x series, which has been par for the course with ATI/AMD for the last number of years. Hardware itself has never ATI/AMD's problem.
