Like it or not, foreign governments like to limit free speech as much as they can, and as a business, it's not in Google's best interest to lose them as customers/partners, and cooperating the best they can is their only option.

Really its this or risk the chance that there wont be ably google blogs in that country at all.

or... google makes it so that once one country censors something nobody anywhere can see it.

I don't understand why people are getting upset over this. Google always has and always will be a data collection service for the government. They have never hidden their agenda. They have never claimed to be out to protect anyone's freedoms. They have always been in it for the money and power. I wish the topic of Google's evils would just go away, people were foolish if they ever believed they were anything else.

They distinctly advertise themselves as the good guys.
