don't like those charts because they don't give actual numbers. Though if it is 40% faster then I wet my pants.

fits your display pic :P
i agree it's not the greatest, but its got "official" in the title...

i've been cruisin the interweb intensely for the last week or so 'cause i plan to build a new calculator this summer. I'm not biased towards ATI or Nvidia i just want the best (assuming its not ludicrously priced).
if anyone's in the slightest concerned i plan to get an Asus P5E3 premium with a Q9450 and a 4870x2 - given that nvidia's 10 series (GT200??) doesnt kick the crap out of it
sidenote: do physics cards really help out that much?(noticed it in your signature)

Oh I removed it out of my system. It just sat there doing nothing for 95% of games. Anyways I will be putting a bunch of stuff for sale soon and think the PhysX card is going to go if someone buys it.

IMO, those Radeon scores could easily be true. 50% faster is basically what everyone's been saying for ages.

I think the 4870 could turn out to be a great card, and the 4870X2 even more so.

aparently the guy who wrote the nvidia article might be biased towards ati, even if that were the case the stats seem pretty solid
http://img3.pconline.com.cn/pconline...mark2006aa.jpg - a comparison of the 9800gx2 and the 3870x2: makes sense that the 4870 would do as good/better than the 9800gx2
anyway, i found a vid (in Italian) of the gt260 it's fricken massive! given that it's a single gpu card i would have expected something a little slimmer... Video esclusivo - nVidia GeForce GTX 280 - Tom's Hardware

Hah, don't trust ANYTHING written by the INQ involving Nvidia. Ever since Nvidia's "NO INQ" policy, Charlie is just one big barrel of hate when it comes to Nvidia. If Nvidia developed a cure for cancer, Charlie would probably complain about having to wait in line for half an hour.
