It comes with any profession. I'm sure I know a lot of 'trade secrets' when it comes to building components. Unfortunately, building components are not one of my hobbies, and I'm not a member of a web forum on the subject. So, moot point, really.

I'd think it would be a pain in the butt, actually. Everyone is hounding him every time there is a new release rumored.

A Non-Disclosure Agreement means he can't tell anyone about it, or even the terms of the NDA itself. While it's unlikely that SKYMTL would be sued for breaking a NDA, it would terminate the relationship that he has with the manufacturers and end the flow of goodies coming to HWC for review.

He does drop hints when he can. He can't even let us moderators know when release dates are, we have to get it from other sources just like you do.

As for the 7000 desktop series, my guess is you will see the first paper launch before Xmas, but you won't see any cards in the retail chain until Q1 2012.

In my conversations with AMD they stated quite clearly that their architecture is and will always be ready to take full advantage of F@H. However, at the current time the F@H application itself isn't able to take full advantage of AMD's architecture. Part of this is due to the caching hierarchy in current GPUs but the other part is really due to the pre-beta nature of Stanford's current AMD-focused client.

Honestly, it isn't. We know what comes with an NDA: product or drivers at the last possible second, leaks from NDA'd reviewers posing as anonymous forum members on their own sites, short writing cycles, etc.

I'd like to do nothing more than to tell you guys about what every company has in the pipeline. Trust me.

Yes. While colour wouldn't preclude me from buying the card, a black or blue pcb would be nice.

However, the manufacturers rarely use the same pcb as the reference design, so I think you'll have a choice.
