While Skyrim may not deserve an upgrade on its own this will be time for me to upgrade anyways, I miss all the shiny DX11 stuff, it makes me sad. I`m almost tempted to buy a 6xxx but with the 7xxx and nvidia`s being due fairly soon I`m willing to wait. My 4890 still chugs along nicely.

I'm actually quite sure that Skyrim won't include advanced DX11 features.

Yea that was my thinking too. Need new gpus but with the release of new stuff around the corner why buy now? If the new stuff is great? awesome! if the new stuff is bad? the old stuff will be cheaper, awesome!

Win win in my eyes....

I wonder if all HD7000s will support PCI-E 3.0 or select models?

Man I hope team Green comes out with something soon. I sold my 2 GTX 570's and threw in a spare 560ti for now. It works but I can't wait to get some horsepower back under the hood.

why did you sell your 570's? nvidia's 600 series isnt supposed to come out till after the new radeons, which may be a few days after or months after who knows but the new radeons are released in q1 next year so you might have some waiting to do

Yeah I have to agree that this sounds like a bad idea given when the 6xx are rumored for...unless you had to sell for other reasons. Either way, I am sure the 560Ti will get you along until its release.

Ugh. I feel this is such a bad time to get into graphics cards right when the next generation is about to hit. I'm looking at a 6990 but if a single 7970 is able to compete with it, what's the point in going for 6990 now? They're getting harder to find as it is :(
