Well, lets put what we know to date suspect or not & figure this out then for the delay using some logic:
- we know yields are suspect
- we know they want to sell abunch of chips & recoup moneys any ways possible from failed 8 cored die's
- we also know they want to satisfy the consumer as well
Would you then blame them for the delay if then they wanted to maximize profit/sales as well as satisfy consumers with maximum preformance, variety & availability on launch?
I found this list online of what is supost to launch. Lets for arguments sake say its within 10% of sandy bridges preformance vs comparable sandy chips. Would you be interested in them as a upgrade or for a new build if you had no allegence to either amd or intel? FX-8150: 3.6Ghz / 4.2Ghz T.C, 8C/8T, 8MB L3 Cache, 125W TDP, 32Nm, B2 Revision $299 FX-8120: 3.1Ghz / 4.0Ghz T.C, 8C/8T, 8MB L3 Cache, 125W TDP, 32Nm, B2 Revision $259 FX-8120: 3.1Ghz / 4.0Ghz T.C, 8C/8T, 8MB L3 Cache, 95W TDP, 32Nm, B2 Revision $229 FX-8100: 2.8Ghz / 3.7Ghz T.C, 8C/8T, 8MB L3 Cache, 95W TDP, 32Nm, B2 Revision $199 FX-6100: 3.3Ghz / 3.9Ghz T.C, 6C , 8MB L3 Cache 6MB L2, 95W TDP, 32Nm, B2 Revision $159 FX-4170: 4.2Ghz / 4.3Ghz T.C, 4C , 8MB L3 Cache 4MB L2, 125W TDP, 32Nm, B2 Revision $129 FX-4100: 3.6Ghz / 3.8Ghz T.C, 4C , 8MB L3 Cache 4MB L2, 95W TDP, 32Nm, B2 Revision $100
BTW, the prices at the end of each one are what I am sugesting AMD might price them at & not actualy MSRP.
