Machines 'to match man by 2029' "Machines will achieve human-level artificial intelligence by 2029, a leading US inventor has predicted." "machines and humans would eventually merge through devices implanted in the body to boost intelligence and health." BBC NEWS | Americas | Machines 'to match man by 2029' |
Not surprising, actually, I figured at the rate we where going, it would be sooner then that. I could easily see us having the first true AI by the year 2020, something might I add, I can't wait to see. It's going to be an interesting day for sure. |
...and we were supposed to have nuclear powered cars in the 50's. People weren't any stupider back then, and those predictions all 'made sense' at the time, too. It all sounds great, but when it comes to electronics, our legal system is behind the times as it is. Start putting intelligent electronics inside people, and all sorts of fubar situations are possible. |
Find Sarah Connor... |

Terminator was a documentary. In an alternate universe. I don't think this makes sense as a prediction whatsoever. The software is so far behind it's not even funny. Add to that the speed of processing it would take... We need full blown quantum computing with excellent programming is my opinion. The inventor is wrong. Be nice if the mistress was programmable :bananafunky: |
No big surprise here, in terms of processing power, a PCs should be reaching the level of the human brain around 2030. IBM's Blue Gene/l monster already has about five times the estimated processing power of a human brain. The storage space of the human brain is estimated to be approximately equivalent to about 10 terrabytes, so that's already nearly within reach of current PCs. |
i cant wait untill 2025... i'll have a nice AI mistress thats about as smart as a dumb blond. 2029 will usher in an era of mistresses that are too smart... ;) |
Just by a blonde now ...i think they're still selling on ebay..lol |

I was just about to say.... It is a coincidence that 2029 was the year John Conner sent the resistance fighter back in time to protect Sarah Conner in 1983? I THINK NOT! |
