The low clock speed of the Ivy Bridge ES is common as from what I know, almost every early sample of ES will have lower clock speeds. Maybe as it gets closer to launch date would we see ES with speeds closer to the retail version.

Better architecture is quite unlikely as IB is a carbon copy of SB architecture wise but I would like to see what improvement Tri-gate can offer to IB, better architecture might be suitable when Haswell comes. TDP has standards and with SB we see the maximum is 95W so we would see an IB with 95W as well but due to the improvements made, the 95W IB will theoretically have more performance per watt than SB.

More performance fer watt, but surely not even close at performance per $$... can't wait for Dozer reviews to finally decide for an upgrade.
