Go ahead. But read the specs first. It's locked at 16x multi, 100 Bclk. 1.6 Ghz. I think it's a tester ES for mobo manufacturers to test their X79's for compatibility, not retail. I don't think you'll be able to push it to 4.5 Ghz.

It is 6 cores though.

bios or hard locked?

hmm..interesting.

edit : i like the brand new thing with scratches from testing hehe

For an ES, even 6 cores @ 1.6. Better off 2 buy a 980x whose bclk runs twice that and can go over 4.0 Ghz 4 a much better price.

$820 b4 taxes for the 980 saves plenty 4 a decent gpu.

Wasn't this the same guy who was selling Phenom II X6's before official release?

:doh:1299 for processor that is only ment as a stop-gap for the board makers, plus no available board to use it on, insane. Wait 6 months and you can build a system for that money with fully functioning chip...unless I am missing something.

Lanboy June 11, 2011 12:10 PM

 do you really think I'm interested to purchase it...

BrainEater June 16, 2011 05:24 PM

I'll say this again.

Intel engineering samples (ES chips) are the property of Intel forever. They are non-transferrable and illegal to sell.

Not only that , but ES chips are usually far below production spec.

Don't buy em ever.
