Default Will z68 be ready for May release?

After some further digging and a recent article, it looks like Z68 will be hitting the shelves for the third week of May.

For those that don't know, z68 will provide all the features of P67 while virtualizing the IGP to allow the benefits of the QuickSync technology and adding SSD caching so you can use the extra space on your SSD (18.5GB needed, I think) to speed up the HDDs in your system.

Anything we say is purely speculation.

I'm guessing more towards E3, or thereafter.

What P67 should have been, Z68 review!

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...ng,2888-7.html

In the two months since Sandy Bridge launched, we’ve come that much closer to the official debut of Z68 Express—currently slated for somewhere in the May 8th-14th timeframe.

Looks like we have another 2 months to wait! No April release... Anyone not in a huge rush, but wants to upgrade to LGA 1155 will probably want to consider the 2 month release.

You can o/c... I think. I didn't read 100% of the article, but past articles that I read talked about being able to o/c z68... I think... lol, I forget!

I stand corrected!

Sounds like it was designed to be the best of both worlds. (H67 & P67)
Or rather what p67 should have been.

Hmmm, these are the boards that I could use for work. We are looking at trying to find a board that will satisfy both our higher end users as well as the standard office staff. If I could get a z58 board with enough video out ports then I could use it for office staff and then use that same board for higher end builds with discrete gpus.

But of course we are most likely going to end up buying before these hit the market. Kind of frustrating but I guess we'll deal with it when it comes.

Oh hey anyone know the answer to this about SSD caching; If I already have a larger saying 120ish SSD could I keep that and then add say a 40 to use for caching with a separate drive? I wonder cause I would still keep OS and such on the larger SSD and then have a 1 or 2 TB for games and have a 40 or something caching for it. That is something that appeals to me a bit.
