460's are so cheap these days.. is it even worth it price/performance?

Sounds like re-branding to me. I'll just get myself a GTX 460 and call it a day.

Remember that while the GF104 core had disabled sections which allowed for a MUCH higher performance GF114, the GF106 never had any of its SMs disabled which means basic specifications could be very similar.

The new generation of NVIDIA chips also makes use of a revised transistor layout as well as some minor architectural refinements which will improve overall performance and can also lead ( as in other GF11x cores) to higher attainable clock speeds.

There is no way this is a rebranding simply because of the reasons I have listed above.
