Hmmm... I'll be! It sounds like there really will be a dual fermi card from nVidia (and not just from partners making it on their own!).

Damn!

If they are indeed going with 2x full GF110 cores (i.e. 2x 580s), then the price will easily be over $800... Everyone is saying two full cores, and not the GTX 570 style cores... also, if they have to do the same thing as ATI and pick the cream of the crop, I doubt this card will be less than $900 at that point. These novelty cards are fun, but prices usually keep them at novelty :)

I'm expecting $800 or more if they have two 580 cores and $700 if they put two 570 style cores.

I have a feeling it will be even more.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 590 Launch Date is March 22 | techPowerUp

It's supposed to have the same RAM as 2x580, and with AMD's current pricing strategy and performance, Nvidia has no need to delve into any price wars.

well they still need to sell the card so 1k a piece will be a bit hard, but if its the same as 580 sli? then i dont see why they shouldnt, or rather, couldnt market it as
a 799$ part. it costs them less than 2 580's for sure.899 would be wayy too much, i really dont see it going for more than 849.

amd's msrp of 699 was it? well the cards go for 730 or something, when in stock. prices could be dropped to fight off the evil goblin if needed, perhaps.

what would you get? a 699 6990 or an 899 590? 200 bones is still 200 bones,no matter
who your daddy is :D

Imagine the PPD on 4x GTX 590's... *Drool*

I think NV's card will come at a higher MSRP than AMD's, even if it is only dual 570's.

with the thingie controlling the juice on, probably 450-500 watts a piece. without, i dont know, 600? 650?

still, 1000 watts for two cards is quite a bit. dont think one hx1000 will be recommended :D
