and for the price, lets see if people go for it or dual 570's ;)
I'm not too impressed by the 570 after all that jazz about weak power stages (4 phases)...

I know most of the customers with "fried" 570s did disable the OCP and increased the voltage...but it would have been nice to be able to fully rely on those..seems like they're weak in the knees....
I guess they're fine at stock clocks/volts/OCP on...

Any card where you push the voltage past design spec you are going to risk killing. So the fact that disabling a protection circut on a card fries it, is well, tough luck. Its there for a reason.

the 570 is abnormally weak on the power side for a gfx of that performance

Do you have something I can read that is more concrete on the matter? I'm curious to see what is weak, it has a solid power distribution system from what was initially seen.

core's vrms are weak, idk what's different from the 560 and 580 but they are more affected that the others

nothing concrete, but too much "coincidence", maybe it was just a bad first batch it seems to have settled in, but still you don't see that many 580 dead for no obvious reasons

What you were doing: Nothing. Just decided to kill itself. Did use it for our review though, where I did run Vantage at 885/1160 maybe once or twice, since then it was left at stock voltages and 780/1050 for some CUDA rendering stuff. It isn't a total meltdown though, just doesn't do stock frequencies, i.e. useless nowadays.

user:elgappo
Mines dead as a dodo now also.... Died at stock everything, palit sonic platinum, not even reference...
now let's get back to the 590, not even a day before launch
