Some leaked pictures of the HD6970...nice backplate on it like the reference HD5870 have.
Also, a 6pin and a 8 pin PCI-E connectors...

To use the *85 and 87* of the HD5800-series, to sell more cards before XMAS and waiting for CAYMAN...the nVIDIA GTX460 doing good in sales, that renaming is part of a Scheme to keep good sales, fight against the 460s...while waiting for the "real replacement" for 5870...
