Wish I had some money to do a new build. My current one's getting dated -_-

Yup, so is the life.
But, if you could manage to find a Q9400 or Q9550 used, and grab a decent cooler + a GTX460 you'd be fine!

Even just a cooler to OC the crap out of your E8400, and grab a 460 or a HD6850 or something...

Depand, 399$CAD for the 6950 and 499$ for the 6970 (MSRP) would be plausible price range since the 570 is about 360$ and the 580 is 500$+

well if you take euros for dollars mano a mano, and maybe take out another 50 dollars maybe itll look good.

theres another rumor about 880mhz core, which might be why they got delayed. gtx 570/580 were coming in, so they upped the mhz? if that holds a candle then its good and bad news. good because all 6950's can do that easily stock all, bad because they needed the extra,mi dont know, 75-100mhz for extra stock performance....hmm.....

if you got a lower clocked es, as in much lower clocked one, youd have to wonder ;)

i wish the card were cheaper.. they need to find a way to make their cards a bit more economical.. other wise i would cross fire 6970's

well thats just one site thats probably taking advantage of some hype. going by the pricing on 6850's and 6870's they probably should be priced less than the gtx 580 and 570, or at least the same but id still be in favour of less.

I doubt the delay was due to the projected clock speed of the 6970. The 5870
was clocked at 850Mhz, so a bump of 3.5% to 880Mhz is hardly a great increase.
Given the high clock speed of the 6850 and 6870 out of the box and their
overclockability, I doubt the rumored numbers of the 6970 were the reason for
the delay.

I'm hoping one day we will get the true story behind the delayed launch.
