Of course I have this AMD email in my inbox as well as NVIDIA's saying that there would be a demo benchmark posted. I just chose not to make a mountain out of a molehill in order to generate more traffic.

All I see is baseless claims from both side of the fence. Why would I waste my time reposting emails?

Good point...I'm sure you suffer a barrage of marketing emails on a daily basis.

So long as it is within the Guidelines of this Forum and not a direct attack Encorp he is entitiled to his opinion.

As we all are.
Lets keep the subject on track.

Exactly. Everyone claims something but it all boils down to marketing. Don't think for a second that there isn't a massive dollup of marketing fluff in that AMD email. Just like NVIDIA's timing of this is admitedly suspect. But that's marketing for ya; it's a game of chess.

It's up to the receiver of the email to sift through it, not jump to conclusions and hold off posting before vetting the information through their sources. Obviously, that wasn't done here.

Common sense dictates stand alone benchmarks released a month before retail availability will have issues in some form or another. Instead, we have a "sky is falling" piece of news that seems much more serious that it really is.

I gather this won't be used in your reviews Sky seeing as it's not a finished product?

the fact that nvidia resorts to those tactics means the speculation about the new green cards is not that much off ;)

so sky, did you get a call from the man or just a casual email? :D

Ok so from what I can read here. If I recall good we don't do thermalright review anymore because they were tomuch intrusive on the result. Then we should stop AMD and Nvidia review to! Na that's just a joke:) I like both of them:)

But sky, if you receive this, what would you do? Curious to know how a site can manage this?

Speculation is speculation. It's definition itself means that it is inherently inaccurate.

You can guess right. But a guess is a guess, and being right in the end does not mean beforehand your speculation was any more accurate than the next guy since all sides had an equal shot at being right regardless.

In other words; you guys do this to yourselves every time, and it's so damn cute it makes me giggle on the inside. <3
