according to this, the new HD6770 would beat the HD5850...time will tell!

Sounds great, but what will actually be released. Maybe Barts will end up being the 6800 series (meaning it would be more of the minor refresh originally suspected...just a random thought). If it is true what will the 6800 series end up being like....or the 6900?

yup,getting closer. even if they dont improve (much?) the already current power efficient design, but add more hp to the lot? nice.

The 6000 series is going to be more than a minor refresh. It was designed to fight with the Fermi that NV was promising...not the Fermi that actually got delivered.

I am sure the lead-up until Christmas is going to be interesting since both companies have some interesting products coming up.

Remember, we have yet to see the full GF106, GF104 and GF100.

You'll probably never get to see a full GF100 in operation. According to Fudzilla there should be a Fermi refresh at 40nm:

If these number are true then the new ATI will be pretty interesting. Happy that I didn't spend all my money on my last GPU.

Yes, and the Sales on HD5*** parts brought the prices lower than ever before I guess.

I got a XFX HD5770 for $135 after MIR last week. It's at $129 this week's sale after MIR
A XFX HD5670 for $59 after MIR

They got XFX Hd 5830 for $179 after MIR, a HD5850 for $259 after 15$ MIR, HD5870 for $369 gain with MIR and more...all prices from NCIX's sale

It's quite obvious that they are preparing for what's coming next.

Call me crazy but isn't HD67xx the same as HD58xx with their new naming scheme? So essentially the 6770.... is a 5850 or 5870? 68xx was reserved for dual and super high end cards IIRC.
