My System Specs

Default ATI & Santa

It looks like a nice Christmas present from ATI: AMD to release next-gen graphics pre-Christmas
Nice one:

Because of the lack of competition the AMD representatives agreed that was the reason there had been no change in the price of its cards since launch.
Let's wait and see.

I find it hard to believe that AMD will have a whole new lineup based on a new architecture on the shelves in about 90 days from now. I'll believe it when I see it.

more than doubling the rops, there was talk of it a while back, seems on some architecture it can do wonders, on others just a paper figure.

I dunno... that sounds like a current lineup refresh to me rather than a whole new line.

Probably just going to tweak the current architecture and nothing more. Its just going to be small gains just so they can say the 6850/70 beats the 480 is my guess. I highly doubt it will be ground breaking but you never know.

from what they say to the core changes, is that some units werent used(much?) so they 'converted' them to units that do the usual work. looks like i typed some crap lol, but the general idea is that were supposed to see an 'engine' that makes better use of its available power.
