My System Specs

Default GeForce 9 series in February

TG Daily

Well Nvidia might be releasing the 9 series in February after the Lunar New Year.

"The first chip to rollout of in GeForce 9 family will be the D9E, a high-end product that adopts 65nm manufacturing. The new product will also support DirectX 10.1 and Shader Model 4.1, revealed the sources.
In addition to the D9E, Nvidia will roll out a mid-range GeForce 9 family product named D9P in June 2008. The new GPU will adopt 55nm processing, the sources pointed out.

My System Specs

Default straight to the 9

Well I wonder if the performance shift will be like moving from the 7 to 8 series. Now that was a leap! Im sure the 9***GTx will tear through crysis in all its glory...cool. Might be just the incentive to move to vista.

Haha, gasp! That's the month of my birthday! Yay self gifting! And yeah, if it is that much performance gain, it would be oh so nice, I knew it was a good idea to skip out on the 8800's :D

For the price of the 8800GT it was a damn good bargain in my mind from upgrading from my 7900 and I'm sure if I want to get this new card that I'd be able to sell off my 8800GT for a decent price as they are still in pretty good demand for a decent price as well.

But its gonna be interesting to see how these guys perform.

I'm with enaberif. The 8800GT was too good to pass up and lets me enjoy all the new games on high at my native res now. As opposed to half-ass medium/low settings at 1280x1024 that my 7900 was giving me.

Go figure.

That's more ambitious than what's been posted at FUD and NordicHW. They've been saying that we're just getting the dual-PCB card (BYODrivers) for Feb, with the 9-series not coming for another month or so.

The only game that really demands more then a 8800GT is Crysis, which is just a glorified tech demo in my opinion. I have been quite satisfied with my 8800GTS 320 and I think the next logical upgrade will be the GT.
