I'm pretty sure they wouldn't consider your warranty void because you slightly modified the card's bracket.

Probably would and I wouldn't chance it...considering their warranty specifically states that the card must be returned without physical modifications where if such modifications occur, the card must still be equivalent to what it was stock to be returned.
