if it's true, in my opinion, it proves that NVIDIA wasn't really ready for the FERMI launch when they did, but they just opened the gates, let a few FERMIs out, to keep ATI from getting all the DX11 market share and try to "stop the bleeding" as a temporary measure.

On top of that, if it's true, it proves that GTX480 is not really appealing and that everybody should wait for GTX485 (or whatever naming scheme is gonna come out). Just like the GTX280 versus the GTX285...

I think not. The 480 flagship and it's sibling don't even have one single rebrand yet. What makes you think that they're EOL? The proverbial "squirt down daddy's leg" hasn't even occurred yet.

They have an updated article on their site already and it says that they were wrong about the GTX 470 EOL.

I wrote my post without even checking out the link. I decided to check it out this morning nonetheless. I left that page as soon as I saw the ATI/Sapphire banners and the ads for Turkish banks and the xray something or other that will let you see through women's clothes. Not worth my time to read.

That's the sad part. Other than semiaccurate, Nvidia always responds which makes the public think that these gossip sites are valid tech information sites. (Plus let's face it, the public is largely too dumb and lazy to bother putting things into context and would always fall back on their biases despite the facts)
