I was really looking forward to getting the extra points for the Chimp Challenge on my 790FX-GD70 motherboard, but alas NO dice.

At the time their web site said it was "in stock". Maybe I'm an excitable idiot for ordering a product I knew was not available, but I figured it was like a pre-order.

This is the second time I've ordered something from them in two years and they have managed to screw up both times. The first time was an AMD 3870 in November of 2007 and they messed up then, sending me an "Extreme" version with a higher clocked BIOS that wouldn't work in Crossfire. I had to re-flash the card back then to get it working perfectly.

Stay away.

Yeah, any of the stores which were listing the X6 chips as "in stock" prior to the official release were immediately taken off of my list of possible order sites. Would have been fine (imo) if they had listed them as pre-order, but to list them as in stock and ready to ship when everybody and their dog knows that they'd lose their distribution channel if they sold them ahead of time is (imo) downright dishonest.

Yeah, I imagine that get your money for adeposit then make you wait for the release date. Rather cheesy way to do business. Kudos for not wanting to deal with these characters.
