If they are in that price range its really tempting to get one. I know an i5 750 would still mop the floor with it clock for clock, but thats 6 physical cores for 250ish and thats not too shabby at all.

Just got a reply back from MSI support.... no beta bios yet, could be in a month.... :(

Maybe they're holding off until after the release on the hopes that folks will buy a 890FX board?????

I've been really hoping AMD would release something to compete with Intel. I'm looking to replace my Q6600 and since the next step would involve a motherboard and ram anyways I just may take the leap in the next few months. Hopefully there are some decent motherboards out there. Haven't checked that side of the fence in a while.

I still wouldn't be be looking for something to "truly compete with intel" until after they release the new platform.

I was kind of thinking that after my post. I just have no clue when their next platform release will be. If it happens within a year then I shouldn't have any problems waiting that long. I must say though that these latest chips from them are pretty damn appealing. It would also be nice to have properly integrated USB3 and SATA3 on the motherboard.

6 cores for $200? Ohh that's tempting. Although i think I'll stick with the 955 for now.
