I'll never understand this idea...ATI must be kept in the dark about Fermi. Yes..there are secrets that must be kept..but general performance is not really one of them that you can expect to keep. It's not like you send the competition a card for testing...but I'm pretty sure there are people at ATI that could tell you a month or more ago how fast Fermi is...and be damned close to the truth. I say that mostly because of how late the card is...it has been in to many partners hands by now to be kept a complete secret. Unless nvidia gave them bad drivers ( I guess could happen). Anyway my point is..a movie line sums it up " hope for the best, plan for the worst" ATI has had...what....4 -5 months to come up with a plan for Fermi. I think by now they have all the possibilities covered...don't you?

It's not like they are all sitting around waiting for the reviews(guess I need to add this..the ones coming out on the 26th...I think) to come out so they can make a plan up at the last minute. Besides..what are they going to do...drop the prices of the 5800 series...yup thats pretty much about it. It's not like they have a magical card to pull out thier butts to make fermi go away....

lol NOBODY knows if Fermi will beat 5870 or not. None of those reviews on the internet can be taken very seriously, those are non-retail/non-final-revision cards with Alpha or pre-Alpha drivers. That is not representative of final retail cards. Normally, as with 58xx, you would know how the card is going to be a month before launch. Nvidia has obviously gone the extra mile to make sure this doesn't happen, but no one can ultimately guess their real motive.

Yup..NOBODY...nobody at Nvidia....hell....nun of the release board partners even know. A truckload of chips just show up at their doorsteps and Nvidia hands them a bill...buy these...trust us ...you want them. I think the board partners would want to know what they are buying...don't you? after all...it is thier money.

And how many people would that be 1,2,...278..? I think the performance of this card has been know for months now...they are just getting the "bugs" out of the manufacturing proccess. My guess is to many people have known for to long....end result...ATI knows.

Maybe I'm just grumpy from being old and sick, but you did "cheese" me off.

I come to these forums because it usually doesn't have these damn trolling posts. Generally speaking, people here act like they are mature and not a bunch of kids. (Yea, I know some of you out there are kids, but this is not a shot at you, I think people get what I am saying.)



Everything aside, I am eagerly awaiting what Nvidia will bring to the table. Until then (only 10 days) lets just let the rumors die.
