Default we may have a price for the 470 and 480 [bsn*]

GeForce GTX 470 will beat out HD 5850 and in some cases, even HD 5870 - for the price of HD 5850 - we were told that the ballpark figure is $299-349, while GTX 480 will run between $449-499.

Hope so... now on to a more realistic answer: "hell no, this is never going to happen" now additional points

1. You imagine if these perform better than the ATI counterparts?
2. Anyone who bought ATI in the past month or so is going to be pissed big time

they said the 470 will perform less than a 5870.. no work for the 480.. so it's not a big deal...

No there is only 11 days left. That is fud.

"We also had a chance to speak with numerous Nvidia partners who were overwhelmingly confident of stock being available at e-tailers for the release later on the 26th of March so while we’ve no solid info on pricing yet, it looks like availability will at least be fair for Nvidia’s new offering."

Late last year, I read how they scaled down from the original 512 core design. I guess that was true speculation...

I guess we'll have similar weird versions of the card like we did with the GTX 260 Core 216 (still a weird, crippled creation).

It's good to hear the prices will be directly competitive with ATI but I bet you that initially when nVidia was hoping to launch these cards, they were certainly looking to charge at least 50% more. I'm glad that ATI made DX11 cards first - now the competition doesn't allow nVidia to ask for their ridiculous usual prices.

Instead ATI is charging rediculous prices currently. Still higher than launch prices and look at the insanely expensive overpriced 5970. Some of the overclocked ones are selling for $800!

Oh and some of the water cooled ones going for $900. We haven't seen prices like that in a very long time. Nvidia is going to make ATI competitive again.

If that price/performance for the 470 is true then I'm sold. Only time will tell.
