You can't put all your eggs in one basket and AMD knows that. Imagine using an immature 28nm manufacturing process for an entire line of new GPUs without testing the process first. That would be a recipe for disaster IMO. AMD is MUCH smarter than that.

NVIDIA GT 240, GT 220 & GT 210 = 40nm.

Additionally, it is very easy for them to take a lower end, single GPC GF100 card and run a few process tests in TSMC's upcoming 28nm process.

Semiaccurate.com? More like semiretarded.com/bs. The guy has absolutely no credibility at all lol. It would be nice to see ati pull that off, but its simply not going to happen.

Charlie was right about a number of things. It is just necessary to read between the lines and come away with a reasonable understanding of a situation.

He also was wrong about a fair bit of things... I think he's unreliable because he's too quick to believe any source that means bad news for Nvidia.

He's semi-accurate. Quite fitting IMO.

I find it had to believe that they would release only the 5550 on 32nm. Seems unlikely to do if every other chip is (according to this chart) made with 40 or 28nm. I'd say the chart contains some good guidance of what is likely coming (with errors), but I wouldn't take it for much more than that.

I would be truly amazed, and happy to eat my words, if the chart was accurate though.

A last minute issue discovered during the validation of ATI Radon HD 5830-based reference boards has prompted AMD to postpone the cards from their scheduled launch on January 25 to a later date, sources at graphics card makers have revealed.
The issue is related to circuits on the board, and is triggering an error on card makers' software testing platforms, the sources explained. AMD has already decided to retrieve related boards for further investigation.
AMD responded stating that products are in the hands of its customers, and are currently undergoing the normal batch of tests. AMD declined to comment on the reported issue saying it does not respond to market rumors or comment on unreleased products. AMD also stressed that there is no issue with AMD GPU-based cards already on the market.

Card makers estimated that 5830-based products are now unlikely to hit the market until early February, at the earliest.
well if this report is accurate, looks like maybe that Feb 5th is a soft launch for the 5830?
