He's semi-accurate. Quite fitting IMO.

I find it had to believe that they would release only the 5550 on 32nm. Seems unlikely to do if every other chip is (according to this chart) made with 40 or 28nm. I'd say the chart contains some good guidance of what is likely coming (with errors), but I wouldn't take it for much more than that.

I would be truly amazed, and happy to eat my words, if the chart was accurate though.

You can bet that it isn't.

A last minute issue discovered during the validation of ATI Radon HD 5830-based reference boards has prompted AMD to postpone the cards from their scheduled launch on January 25 to a later date, sources at graphics card makers have revealed.
The issue is related to circuits on the board, and is triggering an error on card makers' software testing platforms, the sources explained. AMD has already decided to retrieve related boards for further investigation.
AMD responded stating that products are in the hands of its customers, and are currently undergoing the normal batch of tests. AMD declined to comment on the reported issue saying it does not respond to market rumors or comment on unreleased products. AMD also stressed that there is no issue with AMD GPU-based cards already on the market.

Card makers estimated that 5830-based products are now unlikely to hit the market until early February, at the earliest.
well if this report is accurate, looks like maybe that Feb 5th is a soft launch for the 5830?

Wow, considering if it's accurate or not, they're even going for an HD5990? Well, I guess 28nm will open up the doors quite wide. Good times if true!

5830 as a 384-bit bus?!?! Would be sweet if that is the case.

There's not a chance in hell that will happen.

Great, now we're hearing its gonna be as late as the 16th....
Nothing official from ati yet due to their policy on 'not discussing products yet to be released.' However, any insight from sources would be good.

I've heard from someone I know who works at ATI that one of the cards upcoming is going to be capable of running 6 monitors in eyefinity at once... would make for some killer set ups...

It's been known for months already that at some point in the future ATI will release a 6-way Eyefinity card with 6 DisplayPort outputs.

Heres some new information
Source

Ati Radeon 5830 is going to launch on Feb 25th. NDA expires at 9pm PST or midnight EST with its NDA lift.
Samples should be in the hands of the reviewers shortly, if not already.

Why the wait? Chinese new year... that and rumored issues with the reference boards, but the latter was not confirmed.

There are no reference boards. ATI is seeding reviewers with Frankenstein cards that ARE NOT representative of what you will be able to buy at retail. With the HD 5830, ATI basically copped out and is allowing their board partners to design the cards without providing a reference design. This could lead to a huge difference in terms of component selection and quality when going from one manufacturer to the next.

Nonetheless, I am still excited or this card since some of the designs look downright great.

Is it true that MSI is going to be making a 5830 Lightening version similar to the rumored 5870 Lightening?
Excited to see what pricing strategies are going to be put in place, because there might be some VERY exciting cards coming out based on these 5830 chips.
