heard about it on a site what exactly is it.

Sandy Bridge is Intel's next CPU architecture. It will succeed the Core i3/i5/i7 architecture and is expected some time in 2011.

That will give you a fair running start but don't use it beyond the variants stage, as that is where all hell can break loose, as in SSD's.
