They have already "made" 18nm chips I believe. But that was like a single chip.

Well, typically smaller processes are introduced every year or so, and 40nm was first rolled out last year with the 4770, so it wouldn't surprise me if we see at least some preliminary parts produced on a smaller process by the end of the year.

The 4770 was launched in april, not last year, and there were severe shortages in stock because 40nm was having trouble meeting quota then too. I wouldn't expect to see something like 32nm before the end of the year.

Looks like more nVidia delays. Like Fermi March?

Note that (according to this article) TSMC is starting to get their 40nm yields up too.
