Future cards and nehalem GPU scaling Future cards? Just wondering when the next set of cards are due-ie ATI 5870 and NVIDIA 300 series. Also how do the ATI cards scale with Nehalem? Does NVIDIA still have the edge with multi card scaling there and what kind of gains in SLI should I expect using nehalem vs X48 or P45? I'm beginning to think a couple of GTX 285's might be very nice or if ATi works ok in nehalem- tri 4870's:biggrin: |
I'm more curious about Intel's rival product: Larrabee (GPU) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia It supposed to be a first Ray Tracing graphic solution and will make current GPUs obsolete. Uses same PCI-E 2.0. Due 2009/2010. |
I have mixed thoughts about a GPU brought out completely by a CPU maker, I just dont see it panning out and competing against Nvidia or ati who make nothing but GPU products. only time will tell, but like otheres have said, I think its just marketing. |

hey, from what I read, the architecture of Intel's Larrabee will resemble the Cell microprocessor, so that's further supporting evidence :P |
Didnt intel sue Sony for the cell microprocessors in the PS3? |
Likely the nVidia GTX 3xx Series will be released sometime in July / August......these will be my next "upgrade" Cards very likely. As for ATI...no idea..... |
What's your source for that? I've never found anything that seemed reliable enough about when the 3xx series is coming out. |
RJ just knows o.O hes smart like that |
