Why would you get a 27" monitor when it will look no better than a 24" monitor with just a significant price jump? 16:9 is also more widescreen than 16:10. There are some great prices for great monitors. You can get a 23.5" monitor that is 1080P for under 200. That is a great deal. I almost regret buying my 30" monitor for it's price and that I could have gotten a few 24" monitors for less and used ATI's new eyefinity. I still love the picture quality but I could have got more for less.

That's... odd logic. It's less screen and can fit inside 16:10. The extra area is better for day-to-day use and gaming.

Thats not really true. a 22" 16:9 monitor is not just a 22" 16:10 monitor with the top and bottom hacked off a bit. Both are measured angle to angle, which means a 16:9 will be slightly wider than a 16:10 of the same screen size.
