I still dont understand exchange rates in Canada. Somehow our 8% dollar difference equates to a 15% price difference on products? Whats even worse is it says right on the PCB "MADE IN GODD:censored:MN CANADA". So we ship it out, ship it back AND get dinged for some imaginary fee + taxes.

Sigh. Maybe I should have put this in the Rants section.

Nice Card btw

If it says "Made in Canada" on the box, does that mean you pay no tariffs or tax if you buy from US and have it shipped to Canada?

As far as I know yes. If it's made in the states even there should still be no tariffs

belgolas September 22, 2009 04:46 PM

If it is almost $500 I recommend waiting because that is way over priced.

Whatever, I'm not buying one.

I'm waiting until a new generation of CPU's to do a whole system overhaul.

As much as I'd love to get a 5870 there's no point. It would be a complete waste of horsepower since this pair of 4870's is overkill as it is for my 22" monitor.

Your next upgrade should be a 24" 1920X1200 monitor, Killswitch. Hurry, before there are only 1920X1080 monitors on the market!

As far as the HD5870 goes, it's looking real good. I'll be going for one, but it'll get 24/7 use with [email protected]

Yeah, 16:10's are starting to fade away it seems. I had my rig tied on to a friends 30" Dell a little while ago and oooooooooo man it was sweet. I had FC2 and Wolfenstien running all out at 2560x1600 pretty smoothly. So a 27" running 1920x1200 would be perfect IMO. There's a small problem with that though. It's not in my budget right now, and won't be for a while.
