This is some scary and stupid news.

Why is the US doing this? They have had 0 terrorist attacks since 9/11 and they keep raising the bar of stupid laws that remove your rights.

The biggest impact will be business people that have to travel often to the US with laptops. So they take your laptop and now your business is screwed because you don't have your laptop for a business presentation.

Or what if your in a country that is legal to pirate movies and songs but then go to the US and now you have millions to pay.

Because the terrorists hate our freedoms and rights. So the government is taking away our freedoms and rights, therefore giving the terrorists less to hate.

This so called war of terrorism is as effective as the war on drugs... peace harmony is a myth and we as a society know it, we use the boogy man theory to perpetuate fear in all.. The single and easiest solution is close the border and wait.. that was done then the war began on its citizens, with another country.

What you don't know is that soon airlines will require implanted chips within your skin in order to travel - if you refuse, you are not allowed to travel WITHOUT it - This chip will carry your information, your entire history, criminal records, finger print info, ANYTHING about you, including your credit rating and how much sex you had in the last 12 months ! That will replace passports and paperwork. The implanted chip will record vibrations in the skull and conversations - authorities can know if you were discussing matters of national security Pilots, and crew will now instantly have access to passengers on a watch list or passengers with specific needs.

This is why every time I go to the States with by air I always swap hard drives in my laptop and bring my trusty old Dell.

just curious... why not use desktop remote OR private file host... then you dont need to bring your laptop...
