My System Specs

Default Titan PCIe 2 vs 3 Anandtech

As the title states. Tested with SLI Titan. While still not officially supporting PCIe 3 there are small gains to be had. That said its nothing to make someone running a PCIe2 MOB feel the need for an upgrade.

AnandTech | GeForce GTX Titan Two-Way SLI Scaling: PCIe 2 vs. PCIe 3

looks like it'll be another gen or 2 before the top end cards in SLI will be really affected by PCIe 3.

I'd be more interested in seeing the difference on a z77 / 87 board with the fewer PCIe lands vs the SB-E

Especially since my girlfriend got let go from her colourist / illustrator job but wants to keep it up so I'm donating my rig to her and am gonna build from scratch probably with dual 780's on Ivy/SB-E.. maybe..

Without knowing the test setup and how the PCI-E 3.0 was achieved, the results are pretty much a wash.

What really needs to be tested is PCIe x8 2.0 vs 3.0 for anyone who isn't buying SNB-E *roll eyes* why don't they ever test the more practical use instead of just the very top end last second of performance. Then again, a PCIe 2.0 8x vs 16x will give you pretty much those results.

Anandtech reviews/benches aren't trustworthy?

AnandTech | Origin Genesis Review: Triple Titan Terror

This is just un-published data from this test.

GPU bus uprades have always provided more bandwidth than top-end cards cards used at the time. (AGP->PCIe, PCIe 1.0 8x/8xSLI -> PCIe 1.0 16x/16x SLI, PCIe 1.0->2.0, etc.)

We already put this to bed a while ago, with a more powerful card on top of that:

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 690 Review

I referenced that article to a few guys who were debating on jumping to x79. They didn't listen to me.
