TechGage Reviews: Thermaltake TMG series CPU and GPU cooler TechGage reviewed the latest 'silent' cooling solutions from Thermaltake in their TMG line (Thermal Maximum Grade)- the A2 CPU Cooler, and the AT2 GPU cooler. Their findings were somewhat favorable but mixed. Here are their pros and cons for each. "Thermaltake TMG A2 CPU Cooler - Good
- Elevated radiator design provides airflow to adjacent heat sources on the motherboard
- Fan is virtually silent at 50% of full speed
- Easy to install
- Attractive Styling
- Respectable thermal performance
- Bad
- Not silent at full speed
- Poor clip design allows possibility of movement when installed
- Close fin spacing creates high airflow impedance, reducing low-airflow effectiveness
- Fan isn’t truly decoupled from fin structure as advertised"
"Thermaltake TMG AT2 GPU Cooler - Good
- Good thermal performance
- Easy to install
- Attractive Styling
- Bad
- No speed control
- Not truly silent, just quiet
- Inefficient fan duct design decreases airflow, increases noise"
