p180 is just atrocious for cable management even IF you are good. You gotta buy a 8" extension cable just to route cables properly and even then the bottom end is junk. You have to remove the upper tray plus other parts for good air flow if running any good setup of a system.

Personally the only Antec case I like is the Titan 550 and my favorite case is the Coolermaster Stacker CM.

The p150 and Solo are the same identical cases just one is black and one is white.

The Antec 900 is a piece of junk as well because who on earth came up with that lousy hard drive caddy system? Unplug your fans, undo 8 screws, pull tray out carefully.

Blah.

Centurion CAC-05 for a generic case.

So more airflow is not better? So should we just turn off our case fans? I'm lost as to how more airflow is not better.......

On a side note, spending over $50 on a case is a complete waste of money, and getting one with a power supply is even less of a good idea. I buy the most generic cases I can find as long as they have good airflow characteristics. My current case cost me $40 and has a 120MM intake which has a full opening meshed so it actually can breathe and there is nothing behind it too. It also has a 120MM exhaust. Wide open with lots of room to breathe. Took me about 20 hours to mod it out the way I like it, but it does the job. It is showing it's age a bit since it is alost 2 years old and been modded for many different air/water configurations. Either way, it's replacement will not cost me any more than $50 and hopefully half that.

Tests have been done and shown that a case with a good cpu fan and rear exhaust fan is better than having like 6 fans in total.

I'm not saying we need a tornado going on, but what about my highly overclocked PC with overvolted memory and chipsets? You're telling my a good CPU fan and exhaust fan is going to cool them down as well? And what about my hard drives? I realize that they don't need active cooling, but no airflow around them is not good. I will never in a million years believe that your suggested setup is better than something simple like mine. Unless of course you run stock.........

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention my - water cooled - CPU. THere is no CPU fan. Your airflow model may work for a bone stock air cooled PC, but you can't use it as the model for all PC's.

Hard drives don't need air, its been also proven that excess heat doesn't harm hard drives.

Airflow is more about position than fan speed and size. the larger the fan, the more air it can move at a lower speed. for an 80mm fan to move as much air as a 120mm fan, it has to be rotating faster, thus, more noise.

location plays a big role in that top ventilation helps a lot in removing hot air. you want your intakes on the bottom front and outakes on the top back.

it's not rocket science. :p

but i'd prefer to use more slower quieter fans than a few faster running fans. with the Silverstone TJ09 i will be using up all the fan spots, but the fans will be running at 1200RPM, so it will be very quiet. using top-end fans like the Noctua's ensures maximum airflow for the minimum noise level.

I happen to like a bit of noise out of my computer... (let's me know it's running... :) ).

Computers with C&Q running drive me nuts.... the only thing letting me know that it's up and running is the light......
