I think he's referring to software performance, not build quality. if you're talking about HP 'software assistance products.'

if you're talking about the insertion of malware at the production line....my question is: who cares?

users are going to get infected when they use their computer regularly.

are you suggesting we use linux? because Windows and OS X are pretty closed-source. You don't ACTUALLY know that it's not tracking you.

I hate HP like you can't imagine. And now Dell is going the same direction.

Shouldn't be a surprise, trial version of Norton has come pre-installed for how long?

Also, being an active participant in thread necro ftw.

This is why everyone should do a fresh format with a new OS the second they buy a PC.

The kind of people who buy pre-builts from Futureshop/Staples/BestBuy are not the kind of people who even know what formatting and reinstalling is, let alone know how to do it.

Never going to happen to must of us in this forum, since I'd assume every one in here can build a system by himself.

speaking of preloaded, I saw mention of HP.....has anyone here booted a new Lenevo system recently....my god, the amount of preloaded crap on those is horrible. Makes any other manufacturer's system I've seen recently look like vanilla Windows...Lenovo's preloaded image will make an i7 cry without even trying
