Post ASUS Launches the PB278Q WQHD Display [techPowerUp]

Wonder about the price though.

But, is it IPS? There's no indication in the article as to the type of panel.

Unless we're supposed to assume from the 178* viewing angle that it is, indeed, IPS. That's a pretty big assumption to make though.

This is just a rebrand of their two existing 27" models, with a combination of inputs from them both being the difference (Displayport, DVI-D, HDMI and VGA). I believe both are IPS.

Price point is ~700. Nothing special.

Do you have a link to those? The Asus Panels I'm seeing are all 1080p, and unfortunately the ASUS website seems to be up to it's old tricks WRT speed of page loading. :)

Asus VA278Q and PA278Q. Same IPS (PLS) Samsung panel, same resolution, just more generic (all in one) inputs to reach a broader market.

Two things:
1. it's not whether this is IPS, (it is definetly IPS), but the fact that this monitor is a 27" monitor at 2560 x 1440 and not at the silly 1080.
2. the price will determine if this is a good monitor, "there is no such thing as a bad product, only a bad price".
