Default Take-Two CEO Claims THQ won't be around much longer

Strauss Zelnick: 'THQ won't be around in six months' | Game Development | News by Develop

I always enjoyed their Warhammer 40k stuff, will be sad to see them go (as I'd love to see more War 40k games)

They had some games that I liked... I sure hope they find a way to continue... Metro and red faction were good games (although they kinda didn't do a great job at red faction armageddon compared to the rest of the series imo).

This is the company that produced Company of Heroes right? What a shame.

Quality really matter? For shit's sake, Relic continually produced some of the highest quality games on the market!

But then again, the death of THQ certainly doesn't mean the death of Relic since THQ is the PUBLISHER while Relic is the DEVELOPER.

We're slowly moving towards EA and Activision as the only 2 large publishers... Hopefully more things like this happen

If quality really mattered... then why would EA be so successful? ;)

Still, I will say that THQ has definitely had some misses and misses aren't cheap in the computer game industry!

Isn't the Kickstarter site like the instructables site or am I missing something?

Kickstarter is where companies can ask for donations in return for giving their investors perks. Essentially it can allow gamers to have a bit more influence/say/feedback into a game then right now (which is essentially none as far as EA and Activision are concerned)

Not that EA rushes its crap to the market for $ cough…Crysis 2 … Cough

There will be new breakouts that will grab market share as long as they put customer base first investor share second.

EA and Activision have vast distribution advantage to retail stores. Internet downloadable content is slowly taking that advantage away.
