My System Specs

Default Bulldozer vs. Sandy Bridge vs. Nehalem with an HD 7970 @ Techpowerup

Nothing surprising here for me, but a nice review none the less. In some games the difference is minimal, but in others CPU can make a substantial difference.

Nice idea but definitely expected, I don't see how you could expect it to be any different.

Yea BD was a big fail maybe Win 8 will fix it? Has anyone done benching with win 8 dev preview yet? I'm sure something much better will be out by the time win 8 releases anyways maybe phenom IIIs or an eight core phenom II or even better a properly working BD generation.

Yikes, we all know that BD was a big fail. It gets it's ass kicked by SB, SE-E, Nehalem, Phenom, whatever you want. Don't you think it's time we stop beating a dead horse already?

Once again... if they'd start marketing them with a little bit of truth in advertising they'd get better clock for clock comparison benchmarks.... if they applied the 2/3 core performance realistically and (correctly) called their so called 8 core chips a 5 1/2 core they'd stack up pretty well on comparison benchmarks... of course, then they'd have to price them accordingly.....

There really isn't any way to compare one architecture to another unless the clocks are normalized across ALL platforms or multiple CPUs from each platform are tested.
