One of the first reviews I've seen about the new, non-reference HD6970 from Asus. It breaks the 1Ghz mark with ease while staying cool and extremely quiet!

the only thing against it,perhaps, would be the tripple slot but as far as noise and temps are concerned?

What???? Did they read the results of the review they'd written???? The reviewed card (prior to OC) beat the reference model 570 in one gaming test (Civ).

If the two cards were around the same price, or if somebody was looking for eyefinity, it would be well worth looking at, but a quick check of pricing leads me to believe this card will come in at least $50 more than a 570 (and that's being quite generous).

Im my case, Eyefinity is a must and my board only support crossfire. What would You choose? :haha: I dont see a better option (at least not yet) to get max. Eyefinity performance from a 2-card crossfire setup (unless Antilles finally comes out and is amazing...)

right now yes. but dont diss the big bro before it shows up on the streets lol. all it matters is the pricing.
2x6950=ok. more? hmmm would be fun to compete in price with the gtx 580 though. 3 large monitors on one of
those should be doable i think.

Definitely interesting...I really dig the directcuII

My only issue is: The good deals on the GTX570s...you can get them for $300 on sale. The vanilla 6970s are selling for $359...

Of course, I'm talking dual card setups, where the 570s are $120 cheaper/pair than 6970 in Crossfire...
