Microsoft wants Windows 8 to relaunch PC gaming | News | TechRadar UK

Seriously MS... again... do I need to dig up that Win95 Doom video... All your efforts have simply made PC gaming WORSE.

Hehehe... that's pretty funny.... although in fairness, configuring games under DOS could be a PITA for folks who weren't sure what they were doing.

Because GfWL worked out so wonderfully. Seriously, does anyone expect anything from this beyond an attempt at trying to monitize some sort of membership/signup interface?

And having Rahul Sood isn't instilling any confidence in this effort.

Considering the gobs of money MS makes off the XBox, I can't see them giving two hoots about forwarding PC gaming.

Seems to me most folks are quite happy with Windows 7...I was wondering what MS was going to do to push the next OS, and this 'gaming' focus could just be part of the sell.

How about making Games for Windows Live a worthwhile product that is intuitive, unobtrusive, easy, and something people will actually like to use? Given that they can't get something relatively small like GFLW right, I can't believe they can orient an entire OS towards gaming, at least successfully.

I can only believe MS is paying the PC gamer crowd lip-service with this announcement.

I haven't really been following Windows 8 since 7 does everything I want. What exactly is it bringing to the table.
