Very poorly shopped. You can see fuzziness around the geforce. Nice font though.

Was posting in other thread, didn't realize progress had been made in this thread. God dammit, that link from GND looks pretty legit. IF they come out on the 9th I reckon they'll be in ultra short-supply. Damn damn damn damn... I hate having high-end crap on a tight budget

All recent launches have been, and until some rumor appears to say otherwise, why wouldn't you expect a hard launch?

The 5870 was available immediately...but it suffered supply issues as a result of a problem with TSMC's 40nm process. IMO there is a big difference between an uncontrollable supply constraint and launching a product early for marketing and/or financial calls.

Fudzilla seems to believe that there will in fact be GTX 580's in retail on November 9th:

Geforce GTX580 launch on 9th Nov, sampling now

Geforce GTX 580 has a better cooler

I hope this is the case, as I'm very excited about getting the Fermi originally promised.

Less than a dozen cards at major retailers doesn't count as a hard launch. It's called a smoke screen. That's exactly what happened with the HD 5870.

AMD launches a card (the HD 5870) right a few days before a quarterly financial call with limited availability and suddenly the lack of supply is TSMC's fault?

Meanwhile, NVIDIA bringing FORWARD a launch date due to positive matters that won't be discussed here is somehow a BAD thing?

You could also argue that NVIDIA's Fermi launch delay was also the result of "uncontrollable supply constraint".

Well its good to see the "fully operational" Fermi enter the room now.
Judging by the comments I guess the supply wont build up until early next year.
Not sure its worth selling a pair 470's or 480's quite yet though. If you've got 1 of those cards though and dont want to get another cheap 470 or 480 then its worth going for a 580.
I kind of like the dual 6870's/460's too as an alternative to 1 x 580 but I'm not sure if they will handle very rich textures in upcoming ultra GPU intensive titles (if they really exist).

Of course not....you don't seem to be following the thread. If the date of a paper launch as originally suggested is being moved forward that is a horrible thing. On the other hand, if the GTX 580 is going to be a hard launch and things are progressing better than expected, that's absolutely great.
