If the design is the real one, the card is better looking for sure. I like the look. Now let's wait for some review to say if I like the card:) I would be pleased if the cooler is more efficient and she can perform better than a 480 with the same power. That would be a ruby for me.

"
NVIDIA have had information slowly leaking out about their upcoming GF110-based GPU, the GeForce GTX580 for a few weeks now - but the specs and information are starting to get a bit more precise, instead of guesstimates.

they mean forced fed thru un ahem official channels? :D

im not too sure that cooler will be enough to keep it below 80c at 90-full blower on a good load.

about the blower, anyone have a pic of the label?

judging by precedents, performance per watt will stay in amd's camp. performance per dollar..well it depends how greedy amd gets. the same as wit hthe 6 series? we'll see some good bang per bucks....

im thinking along the lines of 350 dollars for the top dogg, you know a cooler running gpu that will kick the 480 and 580 in the bezel and come back to tell the tale :p

AMD IS kicking their asses and I certainly hope nvidia can fight back. I mean look at the prices of current cards. AMD had their cards priced HIGHER than when they were launched. Nvidia needs to get something competitive or we will see 800+ dollar GPU's again. I am a nvidia prefered fan and I am currently worried for them.

And who exactly said that the HD 6970 would feature a hard launch?

If we had that mentality, the HD 5870 would have been reviewed a month after its official release.

Pics look very, very, very poorly shopped. Now questioning the legitimacy?

If NV is to release something, I'd love to see how this new deal performs against the supposed 69XX series.

...I'm waiting for SKYMTL's comment

I don't think the images look fake. They look like they started poorly edited for a presentation, compressed, zoomed, compressed again. (and again and again maybe)
