Now some sites are saying that this is really a paper launch, and that the actual product won't appear until late this year/early next year......(sigh).

Don't believe any rumor till you see the actual card on a Chinese website.

Thats why you never get your hopes up.

Judging by the comments I guess the supply wont build up until early next year.
Not sure its worth selling a pair 470's or 480's quite yet though. If you've got 1 of those cards though and dont want to get another cheap 470 or 480 then its worth going for a 580.
I kind of like the dual 6870's/460's too as an alternative to 1 x 580 but I'm not sure if they will handle very rich textures in upcoming ultra GPU intensive titles (if they really exist).
I seriously doubt that even if you have a single 480 a 580 will be worth upgrading to. I mean with the speculation on pricing I doubt the additional performance would be worth it. But hey I'm just speculating as well :P

GPU intensive titles: Crysis 2 (might actually be more optimised than 1), The Witcher 2, maybe Fable III, thats about all I got :S

Yeah crytek said that Crysis 2 will require less intensive hardware from crysis 1
