Those power consumption figures are almost a little embarrassing, considering the die-shrink. But no matter, because we've all got 1 kW PSU's by now, right? ![]() Looking at some of the benchmarks, you have to seriously wonder how much of the scores can be blamed on available video memory.

When i was talking about a great step-up from the 8800GTS i meant the older G80 GTS without the extra stream processors. The 112sp is an excellent card as well. Its getting quite confusing with all these revisions on the same name.

I hear ya there. I am completely confused and wish they would change the new models, even if it was 8850 or something like that.

Agreed naming this thing 8800GTS was a mistake. Now we have 8800GTS G80 w/96 SPs, 8800GTS G80 w/112 SPs and 8800GTS G92 w/256bit Bus. How can they all be 8800GTS cards? And why the reduced bus? It's like an overpriced GT IMO.

Reduced bus but a faster shader clockspeed to make them faster.

| That is what I am trying to tell all the people that are trying to step-up from a GT. You wont notice the difference and if you just bought the card why step-up now and not wait till feb and maybe get a 9series that might be twice as fast.

Agreed, stepping-up from a GT is not much of a step-up. If I were even considering a step-up with my GT, I'd wait as long as I could before going through with it. There is such a minimal gain in performance with the G92 GTS that I can't even see the justification in the price difference, never mind squandering a step-up for it. :\
