Default CoolIT OMNI A.L.C. meets Nvidia GeForce GTX 480 [HEXUS]

This is a great article for those of you who are interested in or using CoolIT products. I have been following their progress for a few years now. I have used the Freezone, Freezone Elite and will be incorporating the Boreas in my next build.
CoolIT now brings us the OMNI A.L.C. I consider this to be an affordable way to cool not just current video cards but future cards as well. It will be interesting to see how pc enthusiasts will mod this product by incorporating it into their liquid cooling loops.

Me like.
I've done 1 water cooled build in my lifetime, and decided never to go back.
I'd go back if I could get this for about $180.

I really like how little space it takes compared to typical watercooling setups.

I just may purchase this for my next build. I was thinking of of possibly plumbing the omni into either my freezone elite or my boreas for GTX 470 SLI cooling.

Unhappy CoolIT Omni ALC

I like this setup. Unfortunately, I don't like the idea of voiding my warranty to install it, otherwise I'd be ordering the 240 asap.

not overly impressed with their load temp, a good h20 setup can run these cards at 50-60 loaded not 85 like this thing :/

Red face CoolIT Omni ALC

I'm new to water cooling and thought this was a good setup. Guys,do you have to remove the stock system for any water cooling system. i thought you could add to the stock system, that's how new I am. I guess I'll have to rig up some extra fans for air cooling. Total newb.

yes for any alternate cooling you need to remove the stock cooler, and clean the chips of their thermal paste they have on them before you reattach any new cooling device. There is always the chance of damaging the card when you remove the stock cooler if you are not careful.

Thanks for that. Any suggestions for additional cooling would be appreciated.
