the next civil war is going to be caused by that kind of bullshit, mainly copyright/patent/BS laws being overly stupid in there inception and manipulation...

all this crap is getting old.

/waits for someone to sue retailers for using fins on their coolers.

This is getting ridiculous. I mean apple suing HTC for P=IV is dirty enough, but this is a new low.

I hope FrozenCPU can battle through this

I love my 212+. I will buy heatpipe only coolers from now until my arthritus becomes so severe I can no longer build systems.
I support resellers one and all. FTW and FATI

Why don't they just sue Nvidia for the 480 heatpipe design then while they're at it?

Oh right, Nvidia has a good legal team.

Ah, heard about this haha! Looks like they are going to have to aim their fights at the MFR's not the resellers. Also Frontierpc in delaware is the location of the business license for frontierpc.us.

The sad part is that even if FrozenCPU wins, they will still have spent a fortune on legal fees and those costs will be passed along to the customers.

I don't understand this. Shouldn't they be sueing the manufacturers that made the products with the heat-pipe design? Or are they just going after FrozenCPU because it's easier?

It's easier. When they sue Coolermaster, OCZ, Xigmatek, Thermalright, Noctua, Scythe, Thermaltake, and so forth, they'll be dealing with big corporate lawyers.

EDIT: Did I forget to mention Intel, AMD, nvidia, and ATI who use heatpipes? lol...

I doubt this will go anywhere.

FrozenCPU has hired StormLLC . Thats the same legal team [H]OCP used to tell infinium labs to go pound sand.

The patent system is horribly broken.
